This have a bulb in the body of the switch and a light guide to bring the light into the knob. It can be wired so that the bulb is always on, and an internal shutter allows the knob to glow dimly when off and brighter when on. Unfortunately it is not nearly as bright as the type with the bulb in the handle. In fact, they are not visible in daylight but only at night.
